Researchers have discovered that a seven-minute conversation with Google Gemini can effectively reduce people's conspiracy beliefs about current crises. According to a report from The Decoder, the effect is better than static fact-checking pages. Follow-up surveys over several weeks showed that the belief correction lasted and even affected beliefs about completely different events. The study, based on two experiments, indicates that even without verified facts, brief interactions with AI chatbots can produce lasting corrective effects.
